De-Mystifying VMware VAAI

Many organizations started off quickly with VMware, but hit roadblocks that have prevented expansion beyond test/dev and other IT workloads. By more tightly integrating virtual hosts with storage arrays, VMware vStorage APIs for Array Integration (VAAI)  may be the catalyst that will break down barriers and enable the expansion into production workloads and IT-as-a-Service that fulfill VMware's efficiency promise. However, many in the industry remain unclear on what VAAI is. This brief will explain what it is, where it came from, and why it matters.
