Managing Database Growth - Optimizing Database Application Lifecycles

Respondents to a recent ESG survey indicated that cost cutting initiatives and managing data growth are key IT priorities for 2011. Uncontrolled data growth within database applications can have a direct-and negative-impact on the ability to simultaneously control cost and maintain application performance levels: as volumes of data stored within databases increase organically, the amount of storage and compute resources required to maintain acceptable levels of performance grows. Without a sound data growth management strategy in place, IT organizations will be forced to spend more and more of two precious resources: money and time.
