Research Brief: 2011 Outsourcing Spending Trends

While overall IT spending continues to rebound, companies are still very much focused on controlling both IT capital and operational costs. Consequently, ESG’s 2011 IT spending intentions research shows a slight uptick in spending plans for IT outsourcing with 45% of organizations planning on increasing their outsourcing spending this year. As far as the types of services most in demand, application development and information security—two areas with problematic shortages of skills for many organizations—will be at the top of the list for 2011 outsourcing opportunities.
