Changing Enterprise Security Strategies

In a recent research survey, ESG asked security professionals working at enterprise organizations (i.e., more than 1,000) how their organizations would change their security management strategy in the next 24 months. Here are the results:

  • 44% said that they plan to design and build a more integrated security architecture
  • 39% said that they will include new data sources for security intelligence
  • 24% said that they will buy more security suites from a single vendor
  • 22% said that they will actively decrease the number of security vendors they buy from

These trends are still emerging in security but they aren’t anything new. Large organizations went through the same types of steps when they migrated from departmental applications to centralized ERP systems in the 1990s. Then as now, it’s all about automation, integration, intelligence, and scale.
