To gain insight into the market dynamics for integrated technology solutions from strategic partners, Enterprise Strategy Group surveyed 352 IT professionals in North America (US and Canada) involved in the purchases of integrated solutions at their organizations.

Abstract:

While organizations can have altruistic reasons for embracing and implementing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, there are also more self-serving drivers. Indeed, not only is improved brand development the most commonly cited ESG objective, nearly half of early adopters identify it as a benefit they have already realized as a result of implementing these initiatives.

Abstract:

The principles of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives increasingly matter as a technology brand attribute and are subsequently new and important evaluation factors for IT buyers. It follows then that the vast majority of organizations will pay a price premium for products and/or services from vendors that demonstrate a firm commitment to ESG, a trend that is even more pronounced among younger organizations.

Research Objectives

Based on a survey of 742 senior IT decision makers at midmarket and enterprise organizations, the 2023 Technology Spending Intentions Survey analyzes private and public sector technology spending expectations, the business and technology priorities driving those plans, and year-over-year trends in technology adoption and customer preferences. This year’s study from TechTarget’s Enterprise Strategy Group finds that enterprise technology spending will generally slow due to global macroeconomic conditions and the threat of a worldwide recession, but aggressive investments are expected to continue among more digitally transformed organizations.

Abstract:

More organizations are turning to the public cloud to support data initiatives, many of them using cloud services from both cloud providers and third-party software vendors. Within 12 months, sizable majorities of organizations plan to run various data management and analytics tools on public cloud infrastructure. Hybrid environments that also include on-premises systems often need to be maintained, but investments in cloud-based technologies clearly are on the rise to help meet data-driven business goals.

Abstract:

The public cloud is a good match for modern data needs and goals, and organizations increasingly recognize that as part of their data analytics strategy. The benefits they’re gaining will drive further adoption of public cloud services to support data initiatives. But there are challenges that must be overcome to ensure that cloud analytics deployments are successful. This research provides insight into the top benefits and challenges of using the cloud.

Securing applications has become more difficult than ever thanks to heterogeneous application environments, distributed responsibility for application security, and advanced attack campaigns. Converged application protection platforms have emerged to address many of these issues, but organizations can struggle with prioritizing the capabilities they require, assessing the different types of tools available, and meeting the diverse needs of a broad set of stakeholders.
