Abstract

This ESG Technical Review documents ESG’s evaluation of how VMware and Dell Technologies’ co-engineering of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and Dell EMC VxRail HCI enables organizations to extend their existing investments in infrastructure, people, and skills. We focus on the solution’s efficiency, consistency, and simplicity of lifecycle management for day 0 deployment, day 1 day-to-day operations, and day 2 maintenance, updates, and expansions across hybrid cloud infrastructure, operations, and services.

Abstract

This report documents ESG’s validation of concurrent data ingestion and real-time query performance testing of various database management software products that demonstrates the ability of InterSystems IRIS data platform to ingest hundreds of millions of records and simultaneously execute millions of queries with microsecond performance, outperforming other traditional and in-memory products.

Introduction

ESG evaluated Riverbed SaaS Accelerator and Client Accelerator for enterprise SaaS apps and mobile clients to validate how this end-to-end solution accelerates SaaS application performance while overcoming the limitations of application latency, bandwidth constraints, and network congestion.

Abstract

In this Technical Review, ESG examines Pure Storage ActiveDR with a goal of validating the ability of the software to provide near-zero RPO protection with continuous replication and fast recovery. ESG also tested ActiveDR’s zero-impact failover and ease of deployment and management.

This Technical Review documents ESG’s audit of testing designed to demonstrate the high-performance capabilities of Dell Technologies Cloud PowerScale for Google Cloud. This solution enables large capacity file applications such as those in analytics, media and entertainment, life sciences, and high-performance computing (HPC) to benefit from the flexibility and cost efficiency of Google Cloud while delivering high performance.

Introduction

This ESG Technical Validation documents evaluation of Dell Technologies Cloud Platform. We evaluated how the platform enables organizations to extend their existing investments in infrastructure, people, and skills with a solution that provides day 0, day 1, and day 2 lifecycle management spanning public cloud, on-premises private cloud, and edge infrastructures. We also focused on how the solution integrates VxRail hyperconverged infrastructure, VMware Cloud Foundation, and VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid-Integrated (TKGI), unifying management, eliminating silos, and providing consistency across infrastructure, operations, and services.

This report documents performance testing of the IBM FlashSystem family of storage platforms with end-to-end NVMe, including a comparison of 16GB versus 32GB Fibre Channel (FC) Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) in the server and storage array along with the b-type storage network switch.
