ESG's Jon Oltsik discusses his predictions for Cybersecurity for 2020.

Jon: Hi, I'm Jon Oltsik, senior principal analyst and fellow here at ESG. And the ESG cybersecurity team has recently completed its predictions brief for 2020. And we encourage everyone to look at it, but here's a little sample.
In 2020, ESG predicts that at least three U.S. states will declare a state of emergency based on ransomware attacks. And we believe there's about a 20% chance that the U.S. federal government will declare a state of emergency based on ransomware attacks. We're basing that on recent history.
This happened in Louisiana. This happened in Texas, although Texas did not declare a state of emergency. And it just recently happened in the city of New Orleans. This is a scourge. This is happening all the time, and the government has not gotten as involved as, at least I believe, that they should. So we're predicting three states, maybe the federal government. Who knows? We may even see some legislation if things get bad enough. But for more, please go to our website and read the 2020 cybersecurity predictions from ESG.
