Mark: Microsoft Ignite should be added as a must-attend event for IT decision makers and executives that have any type of current investment in Microsoft, or building a cloud strategy, or transforming the way people work. The wave of announcements, the insight into technology, and the validation of customer success are all worthy of tuning into.
I walked away from these top highlights. Microsoft Teams, for one, which really talked about some of the short-term benefits of collaboration, as well as what I believe may be a longer-term replacement for Outlook. Microsoft Arc is a hybrid and multi-cloud management solution. Microsoft Endpoint Manager, which is finally, the bringing together of the System Center Configuration Manger with Intune to really simplify the operation management of endpoints.
Microsoft Virtual Desktop, one of my favorites, where they're taking Windows desktop, hosting them in Azure. The new Edge browser, built on Chromium and really aimed at solving application compatibility issues. And some of my favorite security announcements were MFA is free for everyone, Microsoft Secure Score to provide guidance and recommendations to improve security posture of the endpoint, and the Graph Security API that enables partners to work together with Microsoft to enable better threat intelligence and faster incident response.
Given the historic investment businesses have made in Microsoft technology over the past three-plus decades, companies should prioritize their engagements with Microsoft to help craft the impact technology will have on their business over the next decade.
