Bob: I'm coming to you from Extreme Connect Global User event. This is a special event for them because it marks the first time that they've gotten their users together in one place. Now, it is the culmination of a world tour where they've been going around, talking about what the new Extreme is. And you can see behind me, "What do you think of the new Extreme?" And why are people asking that question? Well, quite simply, it's because over the last year, they've gone through a number of acquisitions that's dramatically changed the landscape of the company. They now have robust data center offering, campus fabrics, and robust wireless solutions, so that they can deliver a complete end-to-end solution for organizations today.
The impressive part about some of the conversations that I've had today and some of the keynotes were specifically around their president getting up and talking about the fact that they need to be really maniacally focused on the customer. As a matter of fact, what you can see in some of their taglines is that they are now referring to themselves as customer-driven networks. Now, I take this as a really good sign. It'd be really easy with all those acquisitions to just say, "You know what, we're just gonna focus on these acquisitions, how do we incorporate them, drive them." But instead, what they've done is say, "We're gonna remain focused on the customer." And I think you could probably argue that some of the acquisitions they've done were because they were customer-focused and they knew they needed to have that end-to-end solution.
Even more important than the customer focus is, as the day went on, Nabil and Dan got up and talked about the fact that it needs to be more than that, it needs to be about the customer experience. So, again, a great sign showing that they're gonna be focused on the right things, putting together the right solutions to ensure that organizations can deliver on an end-to-end solution, and also ensure that they're delivering the best possible experience to their customers as well.
